A new issue of the Annales magazine

LJUBLJANA – In Ljubljana, they presented the sixth issue of the journal Annales, in the Slovenska Matica organization, the Historical Society of Ljubljana and the Historical Society for Southern Primorska from Koper, which has been successfully intervening in deficient areas of Slovenian scientific thought for the fifth year in a row.

The new issue is the second in a series of humanistic and social science literary works (series historia et sociologia). A novelty is the thematic section on transport and the economy, which substantiates the Slovenian economic orientation in maritime transport, in connecting and evaluating the role of the Slovenian Mediterranean window in the world. The article, which presents the advantages of interdisciplinary archaeological and historical research in the evaluation and preservation of cultural heritage, is followed by the thematic set Building and Renovation in Koper. In it, experts from various fields, analyze the specifics of the northern Istrian architectural heritage and the possibilities for its preservation and protection. Discussions on the source, origin and linguistic peculiarities of the Istrian Aromanians follow. Among them, it is worth mentioning the linguistic research of the diverse Istrian language area. The Discussions and Materials section complements knowledge in various scientific and professional fields; the section – Ratings and reports acquaints with book novelties.

The journal Annales, which has a new subtitle Annals for Istrian and Mediterranean Studies, is ambitiously entering the second development phase, which, in the opinion of the editorial board, is characterized by a qualitative leap in the so far insufficiently discussed areas of the Slovenian scientific thought.
