Slovenian bibliography 4:

The National and University Library (NUK) has been publishing the Slovene Bibliography on a CD-ROMs for several years, in addition to the printed version, which has been printed since 1945. The new CD-ROM contains records of monographic publications published between 1988 and 1998.

The bibliography is based on the ethnic principle: it includes publications that meet one of the three conditions – that the author is Slovene, the language is Slovene or that a Slovene publishing house published the work (foreign and emigrant publishers and publishers are also taken into account).

The CD-ROM includes notes for books and brochures for electronic publications, music prints and cartographic material, both real publishing editions and self-publishing editions. The collection also includes proceedings from conferences, jubilee proceedings and radio plays of Radio Slovenia.

The main advantage of the CD-ROM over the printed versions, which have been published four times a year since 1985, is, of course, the ability to search by author, title, publisher, year of publication and other criteria. The search is fast and efficient, and the data found can be saved to a file or it can be printed. For 10,000 tolars, as much as the Slovenian Bibliography 4 costs, the CD-ROMs are available in a beautiful folder with a decorative detail from the door of Plečnik’s famous building, together with detailed instructions in Slovene and English.
