Ordering books in an elegant way

Following the example of foreign e-bookstores, the most famous being the American Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, Slovenian publishers have also started offering and selling books in a new, undoubtedly very pleasant and efficient way for readers – via the internet.

The first Slovene electronic bookstore was set up on the internet by the Slovenska knjiga publishing house (available at [http://www.slo-knjiga.si/knjigarna]), and it currently houses books from more than ten local publishing houses. As the representative of the publishing house said at the presentation, they decided to set up an electronic bookstore after experts found out that “one-to-one” marketing is becoming more and more popular, which by its nature takes into account the wishes of individual customers. One of the examples of this type of marketing is an electronic store. Slovenska knjigarna allows you to select a book by author, title, publisher, topic, keyword, each title is presented with a picture, basic information and a short description. From a click with a computer mouse until the postman rings the doorbell and delivers the order to the customer no more than three days usually pass. Slovenska knjiga enables the presentation and sale of books to publishing houses for as little as three thousand tolars per address for the whole year, and it has set up a bookstore on the internet with the help of the company Adacta.

At the end of June, the largest local publishing house, Mladinska knjiga, started working with a similar company. A complete presentation of the publishing house is available at its internet address [http://www.mkz-lj.si], and above all a book catalog of all their editions (currently around 2,400 titles are entered), they also added pages with special benefits, pre-orders, each Friday they add the latest titles, magazines they publish are on display (Ciciban, Pil, Gea), and professionals have prepared another application in their computing center – an electronic catalog that will enable fast and elegant ordering for stores and large customers in the future.
