In this project, they used one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wireless equipment – Tropos routers. There are currently seven routers installed.

The Municipality of Laško has made an important step forward in providing an information infrastructure. With the installation of the “Mesh” wireless network, tourists, travelers and residents are able to access wireless internet. A basis has also been laid for the further development of services offered by networks: asset management, supplementing the communication infrastructure of public services, data collection…

In cooperation with the Municipality of Laško, we have established a wireless network in the center of Laško, which is one of the most advanced Wi-Fi networks (Mesh) and is one of the first such projects in Slovenia. In addition to the network, the www.lasko.si portal was also created.

This network is a network in the true sense and differs from individual hotspots that are already in use in some cities. This network represent the basic communication infrastructure that will not only enable free use of the Internet, but will also support public services, the economy and enable unlimited movement of users within the network. The network covers most of the city center and users can log in with laptops, PDAs and mobile phones.

The Laško Wi-Fi portal is a supplement to the existing website www.lasko.si and is adapted to all the characteristics of mobile devices. You will find all the news and announcements of the municipal administration and all the news about the rest of the events in the municipality of Laško and their local communities, along with all the basic tourist information.
